Location: Pioneer Square, Seattle

Role:

This one’s easy. As you travel the city this week, you’ll see that homelessness is one of the biggest issues of our time. Cities and healthcare systems are spending hundreds of millions of dollars a year combating it, and they– no, we are losing.

We’ve seen that surrounding an unhoused person with two simple resources— financial capital & relational guidance — can be catalytic to them finding a permanent home. So we’re incredibly excited to bring on our Director of Growth to– well, grow access to those two resources. If you have a background as a metric-driven leader and storyteller, read on; we want to help people elevate themselves from the street with your help.

About Samaritan:

To provide access to the capital and relationships needed to find a home, Samaritan provides smart wallets for people on the street, linking them to thousands of samaritans who invest in their lives through the Samaritan app. Here’s an 80-second demo and an article from Fast Company.

Healthcare and nonprofit groups use these smart wallets (called beacons) as a resource to build relationships with people struggling with homelessness. The samaritans come alongside the nonprofit and invest financially and relationally into beacon holders. Beacon holders can spend funds on critical needs, and meet each month with a counselor to set goals and share needs for the month ahead. Over time, the intervention has led to behavioral change, which has led to incredible outcomes during Seattle’s first Samaritan pilot.

Samaritan is designed for organization to take and use for their community, with a vision to help people without a home in 100 cities in five years. Samaritan’s Director of Growth will help give more people access to a beacon, equipping healthcare groups and nonprofits to turn the tide against against homelessness.

Opportunities:

  • Enable frontline healthcare groups and nonprofits to use Samaritan to elevate the housing and health outcomes for the people they serve
  • Share stories and data to demonstrate how helping someone improve their social determinants of health can save cities millions and make them better places to live
  • See your vision for Samaritan come to life by working closely and creatively between the CEO, COO and Product team
  • Help lead relationships with growth partners in health, human services, and civic leadership across the US

Desired Experience:

  • Researching and/or deploying new initiatives into population health, human services or municipalities
  • Leading growth, sales, or founding a product or service
  • Developing high-return partnerships through effective written and verbal communication
  • Serving at a nonprofit as a board member, staff or a significant volunteer

What We Offer:

FT salary, ownership, perks, with raises as we grow.

If you are interested in deeply impacting people without a home at scale, send us a note with a few links to previous projects you’re proud of and we’ll get started.
